Front of House Catering Servers and Bartenders • (Off-Premises) (New Jersey)Full-Time and Part Time available ​ In Thyme Catered Events is looking for Captains, Servers and Bartenders to join their growing Catering team! Employment with this division of our business is offered as casual/on-call basis only. ​ Founded in 1997 as In Thyme Catering, In Thyme is a culinary and operations leader in the hospitality industry, partnering with a diverse portfolio of best-in-class clients. We produce one-of-a-kind catered events and unparalleled dining experiences in a variety of cultural, corporate, entertainment, and private venues throughout New Jersey and beyond. ​ Who you are: ​ The Server/Bartender is an hourly team member who delivers thorough and thoughtful hospitality and service in a variety of environments. A Server/Bartender must have great communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a knowledgeable passion for food and beverage service. The ideal candidate exudes a high level of professionalism and hospitality expertise at all times. ​ What you’ll do: ​ Possess an understanding of proper steps of service and consistently execute them with efficiency and grace, while maintaining a sense of urgency throughout service Anticipate and respond to guest needs Ensure constant communication with Event Captains, staff members, management, and the kitchen during service, through proper channels Maintain the high standards of cleanliness and proper appearance throughout all areas of event venues Reliably complete all assigned setup and breakdown tasks Demonstrate knowledge of the Department of Health (DOH) health and safety standards Demonstrate a desire to learn more about the event and work as a team Demonstrate basic guest recognition skills—can identify In Thyme leadership, key clients, and event hosts Show understanding of all service styles (ex: reception, buffet, seated, coat check) Demonstrate appropriate tableside and guest interaction manner Works effectively and safely with team members to complete set up and break down tasks and service Effectively communicate menu contents to guests, including allergens Command basic knowledge of beverage program including cocktails and house wines Commands basic understanding of event documents: including BEOs, rental lists, Steps of Service, order forms ​ What we need from you: ​ Catering/fine-dining experience is helpful; service and hospitality-oriented attitude a must. Corporate Café and Catering Chefs • Moonachie, NJCandidates will be responsible for food production for our Corporate Cafe & Catering Division with an emphasis on quality, presentation, service and safety standards are being met daily for all catered events. We are hiring for multiple positions and looking for creative, highly skilled chefs to provide the highest level of culinary standards ensuring a positive dining experience for a variety of clientele. Core Duties/Responsibilities Designing and implementing innovative café and catering menus, purchasing food and supplies while managing waste and maintaining food and kitchen labor costs. Leading the production of food items to ensure quality and consistency. Ensuring kitchen equipment is working and maintained properly. Ensuring kitchen is always safe and sanitary, maintaining an "A" grade with monthly outsourced inspections. Developing and maintaining effective client relationships. Job Description Develop new catering menu options based on seasonal changes and customer demand. Assist with the preparation and planning of menu for events. Ensure that kitchen activities operate in a timely manner. Monitor and record inventory, and if necessary, order new supplies. Provide support to junior kitchen employees with various tasks including line cooking, food preparation, and packaging Assist in training new kitchen employees to meet company standards Adhere to and implement sanitation regulations and safety regulations. Manage the kitchen team in the executive and chef de cuisine's absence.
